milton kept it pretty unhyphy last year. i think as long as the team is doing well and he is in the lineup, he keeps his temper down

yeah, I guess L.A. fans got under his skin. Not just fans though, when he was in a bit of a slump he would alway break the bat in half over his leg

        Re: baseball kickoff.

alrighty, ill hit the NL east first as it is my pet peeve to follow everyone who can knock off the mets.

        1. the mets- stepped back from last year, as thier rotation is gonna be decimated early on. with glavine as your 1, el duque as 2, and chan ho park as 3, its gonna be a rough road. and their role players will have to be touched by god to have seasons like they had last year. loduca, valentine, cahvez, all played awesome, but look for a drop off there. and some of them got a year older, and moises alou is a nice addition, but moving to a HUGE park and getting older might not aid his hitting. i'd say they fall off by 5-6 games this year. but still take the division

2/2.5-- this is the one pair of teams i plan on following in the NL. braves and phillies. phillies bolstered thier rotation big time, definetly picked up around 7-8 games alone there. thier bullpen got deeper as well, so hopefully some friendly competetion within, and the sheer depth of it will allow the braves some leeway. but they lost giles, and jones is a year older. also, their infeild is suspect. personally i am not sure wherre they will go. if they mesh, they could be great, maybe number 2-3 in the division.

and the phillies... wow. if ya paid attention, they had some great moves. the staff could use some work but is above average. thier 1,2,3 offensive gyus match up great to NY, with howard, utely and rollins essentially equating to wright, reyes and beltran. but the 4th option, NY has delgado, and philly doesnt. but alas i think they will pick up 6-7 games on last years mark. maybe, if they get a mid season pickup or rookie impact, they can catch up on the aging mets, especially if the mets rotation falls apart early as thier 1 and 2 are 41, and maybe 50 with el dueque.

the marlins will pull up the rear again. they fired the manager of the year, cabrera isnt happy and willis will be major tradebait all year. turmoil and a 19 million dollar payroll arent going anywhere.

the nationals,,, they will fight for last place.

              here we go.

no choice but to start with the champs.

st lou.-- still should be on top, however, watch out for the astros. firstly, their staff took two major hits. weaver, who finally found himself, pitching in a small quiet market, took off to a major market for 2 million bucks more instead of maybe discovering a true talent. if he stayed, i think he'd have gotten even better under dave duncan. but alas, greed takes over. and the departure of suppan hurts a lot. he was a horse, nothing in the top tier style, but a horse who you can rely on. 2 big losses there. mulder better step up big time if the cards plan on tAking the divison. in the end, i think they will be there, playing for something in august, most likely in the playoffs unless houston takes off and the NL east gets the wildcard(phillies). izzy and looper should lock themselves up in prison and get a little tougher, both mentallly and physically. looper has a bad history and izzy is aging. rolen is a year older, and at 6'4'' a big body breaks easier than ekstein(my favorite jew). puljols is puljos. another big year, nothing new. just shutup plz, albert is becoming arod solely in regards to media. keep it shut, smile and play. thats all ppl want, and if you do it, you become jeter. aka, media sweetheart. one big thing the cards need this year is for taguchi to step up and become that player at the next teir. he is good in limited at bats, really good to be honest. its time to become reliable enough to play 9 innings every day. he can, he should, its up to larussa.

houston.-- lost a pitcher, still have the one ofthe best pitchers in the majors in oswalt. thier staff is above average, but nothing worth worrying about, they can be hit. ausmus should have a good year, as he was one of the better catchers in the NL inthe second half. these guys have a seriously underrated infeild, yeah i said it,...take a peek. berkman/lamb at first. great hitting/feilding combo ala the yanks. loretta at second and third will be a surprise. mark loretta is the money ball guy. impossible to strike out, not too much power, gets a ton of singles and doubles and will be a RBI machine with guys on base if he gets the at bats. very much like a philly bobby abreau. quiet, hard working, doesnt thrill, but consistently gets the job done. keep an eye out for him to replace an aging biggio if CB has a bad first half. morgan ensberg and lee in the outfeild will be a nice grouping. --prediction... second place in the division, miss wildcard.\

cubs-- umm. they are cubs, pinella will work the team hard, and root out the BS, it will take 2-3 years, but this team this year, will be middle of the road, maybe make some mid season noise. not much more. zambrano and pinella will be awesome combo to watch interact. gee, whadyya know? wood got hurt again. chevy chase in the remake of the invisible man was seen more than wood is on the feild. lilly is a sissy. thier staff outside of CZ needs to grow a pair, every year its the same fucking thing with wood pryor and now lilly, how can they get hurt? and how often? but this it the type of team , especially with pinella now, that can have one game that sneds them on their way to knocking off the cards and stros. if by some means of heavenly intervention, they stay healthy and the big 4 get strong, watch the fuck out NL. those are 4 monster pitchers in a 5-7 game series. think about game 4 and ted lilly. tough game after facing zambrano, wood, pryor. again, stress heavenly intervention. soriano will be soriano, and pinella will set him stright, whether alfonso likes it or not. pinella wont just bench him, he will tell him to stay home if there is a problem. thier infeild is a sleeper. derreck lee is a top tier player. top 20-25 in the league. derosa, isturiz and ramirez at third..... good all around infeild. good hitters, above average feilders. but this team's future rests on sweet lou and big 4.

brewers reds and the pirates.--- they are the brewers, reds and pirates.

carew, larkin and willie mays are all dead or retired.

each team has some good potential in thier young call ups from last year, but again, the guys the franchises hang thier hats on are all dead or retired. gonna take some GM firings for these guys to pull thier heads of their collective asses.

                        NL west

dodgers take it, boring division, no one cares.

the only news we need to think about is if the padres will step up, and personally, i pray that the giants are playing with the dodgers all season so that they have a hard time setting it up so bonds breaks the record at san fran, i hope that lying cheating fuck has to break the homer record in NY, so all of us NY fans can throw batteries with babe ruth written on one side and hank aaron on the other, or at least have to do it in atlanta, keeping the braves link. i sincerely hope that balco boy rounds third base to an object, preferebly weighing 2-5 pounds hitting him square in the face.

thats the story for the NL west, dodgers and the bonds fiasco. fuck you barry, fuck you and your wife and kids and any future devil spawn you generate. fucking disgrace. hope you eventually have to face the 6 people who are currently in jail as a result of your actions. scumbag.

Suppan was a serious loss, but I would have actually been pretty PO'ed if they'd blown a lot of money on Weaver. He pitched outside of himself during the playoffs, especially the final game, but there were times during the regular season where he was just terrible -- lots of them. They always say that you want guys who can step it up when it matters, but you need people to do the day-to-day, too, and he was shelled pretty routinely during the regular season. I would have been OK if he'd stayed on the staff for a reasonable amount of money because Duncan does have a way of bringing the best out of guys, but he was too much of a gamble to try to compete with what he would command after his performance at the WS, IMO.

Need to get back into baseball before I can comment much more -- been in football and basketball mode of late...
