    no idea whats sampled here.
can't tell who the trumpet is...and the sax part at 1:50ish sounds like charlie parker. dunno, maybe its a dizzy/parker tune? dizzy does the vocal on salt peanuts, which they both played on, could be a sample of that?

I'm going to try and find what Holland's most renowned Sax-player has done...Hans Dulfer (His daughter Candy Dulfer may ring some bells with some people). I saw this guy a few weeks back, with a DJ playing prog/breaks/techno from a computer (maybe Ableton), and a band with him (sax), a contrabass, a drummer (the DJ himself) and a singer.

F.U.C.K.I.N.G. amazing. You should especially check out the contrabass solo on a techno record, it made me go nutters. This doesn't even sell this thing on CD...but in mp3 format on usb sticks . Talk about being 'progressive' in the scene, and his original trade was jazz music.

He only sells it at his performances and I've not been able to trace any rips f it yet...search for 'Hans Dulfer and his New Band' if you can...if the recording is anything like I've experienced in Leiden it should make you go crazy

Actually he played better when I saw him...but this gives a nice impression

DJ drum solo...I liked the bassplayer's solo better but this deffo made the place go bonkers when I was there

The likes of Esbjorn Svensson and The Bad Plus are influenced by dance music - Pat Metheny's electric stuff (particularly with guitar synth) can definately cross over. Just don't fuck around ruining anything from Coltrane !
                          sigpicSimonR

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.

Someone should definitely fuck up something from Coltrane...
