Re: The event that forever changed your life
wow, yes. 9/11. the single most frieghtening moment of my life. being there, having to run away, wondering if my father was alive for hours, having to walk uptown and over the bridge, and then walking more to find a phone i could use to find a ride home. the news of uncle george dying, having my family wonder where my uncle thomas was (fireman), we knew that my uncles who were cops werent on duty that morning, but they went there after the collapse, spending weeks not sleeping, the first day the planes flew over NY again....the ensuing years of political bullshit and how the world changed. going to funerals and memorials for friends and clients for MONTHS, not days or weeks, months.
i just remember, at one point on that tuesday, i looked back downtown and just saw the cloud of smoke and wondered if lower manhatten was even there.
then, on the first day back to the game, when the yankees and mets made us all simply new yorkers, standing on the same feild, and the mike piazza home run that essentially had the entire city in tears..your life is an occasion, rise to it.

the things that changed my life:
having accepted to be loved by someone (and that's hard)
discovering a passion: cooking
forgiving someone for something really badIf the doors of perception were cleansed, every thing would appear to man as it is: infinite. - William BlakeComment

Re: The event that forever changed your life
well that worked out well.
we ended up getting into an hour-long fight, I took her to school, she got mad at somethingI said and jumped out of the car, called me, told me it was over and that she was moving out tonight because I "don't care" and because I "treat her like a child," and then I ended up making her cry and get apologetic. all because I said "it's better to turn in a story that you aren't satisfied with than none at all"

Re: The event that forever changed your life
Two events changed my life, and I could write 4 pages on them easy:
1. Being the victim of an armed robbery when I worked as the cashier at a petrol station. think I went through every emotion that night; fear, bravery, stress, numbness, it was just the weirdest experience ever.
2. Having my heart broken in summer of 2005 - met and fell in love with a girl, we split up, totally out of the blue. Didn't sleep/eat/function for 7 days solid, even know I don't know how I got through that initial part. On some level I'll never get completely over thatComment
