its up on ESPN motion (free) right now. what a classic hockey brawl, spawned by a bad 1 on 1 fight, then a stoppage, so each team sent out the enforcer lines, and BOOM, as soon as the puck dropped after the intial penalties, it was like normandy beach. one of those fights where the refs have to stand back and let a few ppl have at it because they cannot stop 12 people at once. full out, team on team brawl, with the goalies having at it. awesome to hockey getting some juice back FINALLY>

ya i've seen a few bench-clearer type brawls in my day, and while they can get a bit carried away...sometimes they're just what the doctor ordered in terms of getting the players to really step up their intensity levels for the rest of the game.

as an avid sabres fan (i think i've missed watching about 5 games the past 2 years) it was great to see the guys on our team stand up for chris drury. it was also great to see coach lindy ruff explode. if you were watching the game you could hear lindy tell andrew peters and adam maier, our 2 enforcers to go after spezza and "knock his fucking head off!" while this might bew the wrong thing to do in retaliation it has to be known that the sabres are not just a bunch of skilled pussies that will stand by and watch their team captain and one of the greatest players ever take a cheap shot like that. that is exactly why marty biron went after emery. biron is a humble, well mannered guy who has probably never been in a fight and still he went toe-to-toe with emery who is an off season boxer. the buffalo sabres have the biggest hearts of anyone in hockey and it shows.we have 8 players out with serious injuries right now, calling up 20 year old players from our rochester farm team to get the job done. lindy ruff said of the sabres injuries "it's another man's opportunity" and these young kids have come in and set the tone for the rest of the NHL. it has to sting for ottowa to know that they've been beaten by a bunch of rookies. chris neil can go fuck himself with that cheap late hit. all i say say is that it is going to be a shitshow saturday night when the sabres take the ice in ottowa. GO SABRES!
