so anybody have any idea how my external hard drive quit working suddenly after installing SP2?

I can see the directories but when I try to go into one of them it freezes up and I get some weird error message...

Please help!!!! ahhhhhhhhhh

check your services running; one of them I think has to do with external drives...turn it either on or off depending on where it's set now.

I almost think mine (running on a Serial ATA card) "failed" that way...I'm going to check it again soon (i.e. it was recognized, then it wasn't, then was again...because BIOS detects it no problemo)

I'm also running it on two of my computers and I haven't had a single problem with anything either.

Maybe there were some underlying problems with your computer in the first place and the service pack just brought them out into the open?

Same here. I am loving it so far. Haven't had any "real" problems as of yet. I am testing it on my laptop first before I load it on to my desktop.. I will be slipstreaming as well.. Definitely a good idea..

^ yep, an upgrade for retards - people that odesn't know how to install virus protection - firewalls - etc... its like a baby sitter, pisses me off!
