NHL trade deadline - today

some wheelin' & dealin' going on the the world of the NHL today. trade deadline is 3pm eastern time...

so far

biron to philly for conklin (cause apparently buffalo's GM has been drinking on the job).
laraque to the penguins, where he will sit in the press box
guerin to san jose for a 1st round draft pick and a prospect. look out for the sharks in the playoffs

Im not a huge hockey fan, actually, i don't watch it at all, but i do know that the Thrashers gave up two first round draft picks and some other round draft pick, plus a player, for Keith Tchuckfuck from st. louis. lol. I don't even care, but that's awesome for STL.

its not a permanent trade, by most accounts...tkachuk is a rental player. St Louis will more than likely reacquire him in the off season. tkcachuk is just there to help the thrashers win the cup, which they've stated is their goal this year.

i'm just looking at it from the rebuilding standpoint, which the blues are obviously in. two first round draft picks! sick. tbh, tkfhuck didn't do much here anyway.

the problem with draft picks, even first rounders, is that it can take 3-5 years to see any real gains out of them. and the draft this year is probably the worst in a decade.
