Seriously though I think this correction was a long-time coming. There will be a couple more before all is said and done, but all will be well in the end. Just wait until some of the nation's largest homebuilders start readjusting their forecasts and stating earnings - we'll probably feel it then too.

Yah buddy it's turning into a buyers market....and I am a buyer, so signs are looking good for me. As for the market the other day, my stock held steady so it's all good there too.

Depends on where you are actually. Down here in Florida prices are just beginning to subside. In fact, 3 weeks ago my wife and I went looking at exhisting properties in our area and there were several 3/2's on 60'x90' lots that were shacks for all intents and purposes in the $450-500k range. Not exactly what we were thinking of spending for investment property with the new home market the way it is, but I'm going to give it another month or so and prices should start correcting significantly. I think, for the most part, we're in the tail end of speculators and investors trying to make as much money as quickly as possible.

you're tellin me..... up here, and in cali, its beyond stupid. i used to have a property that me and my cousin bought for 530, and then they implemented an 18% property tax increase, putting the tax on the lot just over 14K a year... we sold immedietely. ohusing market in the big 3 states is absurd.

For shits and giggles my wife and I took a look at what one of the houses behind us sold for on the property appraiser's website. Turns out the people paid $1.1M for a 5/4 and pay a little over $25,000 per year in property taxes alone. Add to that the cost of the HOA and they're paying more just in taxes and fees than many of the people in this country make in a year.

i had a two bedroom colonial on a 1/4 acre lot. 14 grand for a 1/4 acre......GIVE US A BREAK. fucking NY politicians really have no clue. most of the counties around manhatten are flat out broke and yet they keep raising our taxes in every aspect.

man at least we can still get an acre up here for ~$350K in some of the better towns

this is crazy; dow plunges 200 to start the day and now just made it all up...WAY too much volatility now, it's like an all out brawl in there...
