    2001

As of today, it has been 2001 days since we were attacked by Osama bin Laden. Where the hell is he? Why hasn't he been brought to justice? What happened to "Wanted: Dead or Alive?" It's not like we suck at hide and seek -- we found Saddam Hussein in a fucking hole in the ground in the desert, FFS. Bin Laden's on dialysis, that's gotta leave a trail of some sort.

The reason we haven't found him? We just aren't looking that hard. I can't imagine what else it could be.

That's why Cheney went to Pakistan last week. He wants to put pressure on Pakistan to find Bin Laden who is thought to be near the Pakistan border.

Plus, we've been looking for him since 9/11. It's not like everyone's forgotten about him.

the last four reports of a Bin Laden sighting were in Martinsville, IN. which would make sense if you know anything about Martinsville, IN.

well, we could find him, but the required actions would force us to break about 100 differnet international treaties on the treatment of non military people. we could simply invade western pakistan and wreck shit house to house. and carpet bomb a few hundered thjousand acres of land. but too many people would cry, so now as it stands, we just have pressure pakistan until we either invade or OBL shows up dead.

That's kinda my point, though -- I kinda feel like the people in charge have forgotten about him (well, in fairness, not really forgotten, but more bumped down the priority list). Feel like we've taken our eye off the ball, and as the drumbeat continues to build for a confrontation with Iran, I can't help but be reminded of the fucker that got us all into this in the first place...

          First things first.

I do get that the Pakistan thing complicates matters a lot, but we've already invaded a country for no good reason, what's one more for a good reason? Ok, just kidding about that...

well, we cant have it both ways. IMO, we should tell pakistan that there is a blood price on OBL that they will pay if they dont allow us free operation in the province. so hand over 3600 citizens to take OBL's place or get the fuck out of the way,

but pakistan doesn't even have free operation in that region...

I do see your point and it seems like the focus is on Iraq where it shouldn't have been in the first place. However, I'm sure the administration still wants to get Osama. Cheney's recent trip to Pakistan makes me think so. And Pakistan has real WMDs.

                        this just in: http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/...shing_res.html

Armed with fresh intelligence, the CIA is moving additional man power and equipment into Pakistan in the effort to find Osama bin Laden and his deputy Ayman al Zawahri, U.S. officials tell ABC News.

You have answered your own question....

Bin Laden is in Pakistan. Pakistan won't allow USA ground forces into their borders to search for him. They are telling us they will handle it. We don't have a choice in the matter, short of invading Pakistan... a nuclear power, as stated earlier.

Why is this such a difficult concept for liberals to grasp? They bemoan the war in Iraq, saying we invaded a sovereign nation... but then they want us to do that exact same thing in Pakistan.... (and in Sudan, for that matter) Hypocritical, isn't it?

Besides.... getting Bin Laden isn't going to change anything. Terrorism will continue. If anything, his capture or death will only bring about more violence. Our efforts are better spent focusing on state sponsors of terrorism.... like Iran. We should have been invading Iran before Iraq.

The Pakistani government doesn't exactly have control over Pakistan either, which is another problem.
