But so true...thanks for passing on the link Tim. Sheds some light on your positions on design & payment ;-)

Yeah it's quite true. But there are so many GA's that will do work for free...it's called building a portfolio. And a lot of times this is the only way to do such a thing.

Until a certain point mate. I've taken Tim's advice to stop doing free work, and guess what: people suddenly opt to pay for their shit. It especially weeds out the fucking freeloaders very effectively, they are usually stopped when you throw a simple pricelist at them .

Building a portfolio is one, but at some point I think it is time to stop doing that and simply take on projects because it is your work. The line is thin, and you'll have to decide for yourself when the time has come you don't need to build a portfolio anymore per s? and have completed enough projects to serve as one. My life as an aspiring designer has become a lot easier since I made the choice to do no more free work. Only for a close friend maybe, but that's it.

Oh you got that right bro. I just think this guy who wrote that message forgot about those little things you do in the beginning.

I've read so many stories about these things in almost every issue of Computer Arts. People like Vault 49 and 123Klan talking about how they began to raise their prices and kept doing it to see how high their clients would go before they began to complain.
