Phil, that was a sweet opening set you played for diggers last night!
Perfect tracks to pick up the mood, people and good times before diggers hit the stage.
As always diggers was amazing! I have seen him about 5 or 6 times and this was probably my 2nd favorite. Delta heavy being number one.
His tracks, mixing, funny hair cut was chewy goodness!
"A man has to believe in something, I believe I'll have another beer."
So Phil, you still haven't mentioned if you got any kudos from Digweed for that opening set you did.
Congrats on the gig bro. Please do send those pics to us as soon as you can.
Jeffery, as he was about to leave the club he saw my tag partner and went out of his way to say bye and mentioned that he had been backstage for about half an hour of our set and mentioned it was a good set and that he liked it. To me that's all I needed to hear. He didn't have to say that or even say it was pretty good. He could have just left, but that was another thing that seems to make fans of Digweed appreciate him that much more.
I mentioned to him how I enjoy listening to his Transitions show each week and he liked that...
The MSTRKRFT story as told by the promoter:
Thanks to all who came out last night. Crazy show, and quite the weird evening. I hope people understand that there was an explosion in the elevator, things broke, the elevator stopped, shook, shuddered, and then stopped again. They did not get out until 2 hours later. All this while the hotel was not very confident about them getting out soon, or even safely. Now, imagine yourself as the MSTRKRFT guys, and TRY to imagine what was going through their heads. I spoke with them for a while when they finally made it, and one of them was literally still shaking from the experience. They did not know if they were going to make it out alive, so finally just making it to the venue was a huge relief for them. All they wanted to do was have a lot of liquor and try to get over what had just happened. They were totally bummed out that they could not play, but hopefully things will work out in the future for another appearance.
NICE Phil. props to you for opening for diggers that just fricken awesome!
Also when/if you make your set available, you should leave like 5 seconds of silence to signify the 15-20 mins of breakage hehe.
I'm going to transfer the audio from my iriver to my comp in the afternoon. I will then go through the mix and send it to my tag partner, Moksha, to get all the levels fixed and sort out the mix section where the fire alarm went off.
We had to remove our recorder for the last two to three tracks in order for them to get Digweed's stuff sorted (i believe he was recording his set) and so not to have a recording device on the decks when he got ready to come out. So the final two or three tracks won't be there.
More than likely we're going to get together when I get back from Colombia (I leave on wed and come back on the 28th) and re-hash the mix and make it an official promo download. The mix more won't be up before I leave due to so many other things to take care of but keep an eye out for it in April.
Nice Phil
Glad to hear Digweed got a proper warm up set.
MSTRKRFT has no place warming up for Digweed
I have never been so pissed off at an opener when I saw
them Thurs in Vegas, total ponce electrohouse.
As for Diggers, he's sets are peaking just in time for WMC
Can't wait for the promo mix.
S&D at hippiefest will be something special indeed.

Let me get this straight.
So white-middle class Americans have been told by their Television sets to be fearful of:
1. Mexicans/Latinos from the South bringing drugs and killings n' shit.
2. African Americans cause mos def they are raging a race war and want to occupy America like how the plebs occupied Wall St.
3. Iranians/Afghans/Any one of middle eastern origin to be quite frank, cause you know Islam...
4. North Koreans/Chinese cause you know everything...
