    Dell 2407WFP

Anyone played with this monitor and compared it with the older 2405 series? I'm curious on the picture quality because the reviews say that they improved the quality but how good is it really since the 2405 was mediocre at best? I'm curious to check it out.

I've had 19" for years and if I'm going to go widescreen, I don't want a stretched picture. 24" is the first size where you don't get a distorted picture like all of those other widescreens. Dell had dropped this to $609 and then this morning it went back up to $679 but I found it at a local shop for $609. I may pull the trigger this weekend.

I won't be back until next Tuesday, so if Get Carter is the correct answer, I would appreciate of someone else posts a new cap for me

Yeah I use it at work and love it, wished I had it at home as well. But I can only tell that it is good for 2D office applications, never did anything in 3D on it. Colors are crystal clear and with the right graphic card supporting it your eyes do not hurt after using it for several hours. I have the Dell screen since a few months and never had a problem with it. The only people who complain about it are our bosses because each screen sucks uo to 80 Watts per hour.

Damn. That's some power suckin'. Luckily, I'm only home on the weekends. Thanks for the info. I will decide if I go for the $609 price within the next day or two. I'll give a status report and that and if (or when, I should say) I get it, I'll give a review. I hope the one I order doesn't have the new Samsung TFT panel in it. I don't game and don't want to lose picture quality.

^ ^ I don't want the stretched out view on the monitor and I've read numerous reviews and gone and checked out the 22" screens. Believe it or not, the technology for the 24" has surpassed the 22". Look around, the 22" is an area where developers haven't put in too much time and effort into it.

You know it's shitty when you look online and come to find out there were some nice coupon codes floating around where one could have gotten this monitor for $540 shipped, OTD. Goddamnit! I guess I'll be waiting.

I've been wanting a new monitor since last year but have been putting it off for the newer models. I've found the one I want and can't pull the trigger because I know the moment I do, a discount will pop up. Argh!
