Rating music on Itunes and Winamp

I know there has been lots of debate of Itunes vs. Winamp, but how do you all rate your music on Itunes or Winamp? I started with Itunes but then made the switch to Winamp. On both, I used the provided rating "stars". However, on both setups, the ratings and playcounts were either corrupted, reset removed or deleted and I lost all my ratings (which is annoying after listening to and rating a couple hundred sets.)

So now I am using the "comments" part of the MP3 tag as that seems more permanent and putting my rating as a number 1-5 in the comment field. Is there a better system of rating my tunes than this that is not subject to deletion?

    They both work for me.

    1. Mexicans/Latinos from the South bringing drugs and killings n' shit.
    2. African Americans cause mos def they are raging a race war and want to occupy America like how the plebs occupied Wall St.
    3. Iranians/Afghans/Any one of middle eastern origin to be quite frank, cause you know Islam...
    4. North Koreans/Chinese cause you know everything...

    Am I close here?

On my PC I use winamp.

On my Mac I use iTunes.

I don't really care about ratings though. If its good I remember. I don't use the comments either.

How can you remember which sets are good? Maybe if you have just one or two per artist...but when you have all the weekly Catteno sets, I can't for the life of me remember which dates are good and which are bad.

I?ve been using my ipod and iTunes to rate my music for about a year, and never had any problems, even synchronizing what I do in my ipod and computer. I think is a great feature of this software.
