One side in constricted by the conventions of war whilst the other is abides by the rules of Jihad.
That's still no reason for us to lower our standards of civilization though.

How do you battle an enemy who hides amongst the civilian population, firing from civilian homes etc. How do you battle barbaric animals who execute westerners just for the fact that they have not welcomed Muhammed in their lives?
Well, certainly not by rolling in a conventional army. We've been trying to counter guerilla tactics this way for decades and it just doesn't work.

So its all the fault of the west is it? We should continue to allow our cities and civilians to open to attack by these monsters?
Of course not. But carpet bombing doesn't provide an answer either. At least, not an answer we'd like...

Bollocks, the two are not in the bit connected - although it has become the cry of the loony left and islamofascists (what a strange combination the two make) for the last few years.

Iraq was in breach of the treaty that ended the first Gulf war - started by Iraq's invasion of Kuwait. Had the pathetic UN not baulked at the final moment then the standing resolutions since the end of GW1 would have been enacted - but that clearly wasn't acceptable to some of you Europeans that had huge deals in the pipeline with Sadaam was it
As you know, breaching the treaty wasn't the reason why GW2 invaded Iraq thinking that it could be done in a week. Everybody knew that civil war was going to be the result. And guess what... civil war it is.

As for the two being connected: well, why should anyone obide international law when even the US doesn't?

Abide by International Law? There was no breach of International Law in the Iraq invasion. PERIOD. This is a silly claim from the looney left.

The WMDs were part of the justification for war, along with a number of other reasons, including but not limited to:

          - Regime change in Iraq having been USA policy since the Reagan years.

          - Iraq fired upon USA/British aircraft patrolling the No Fly Zone every day for 12 years. Each instance was a violation of the Gulf War cease fire, and would have jusified the removal of Saddam.

          - Iraq violated 17 UN Resolutions on it's weapons programs, includng final Resolution 1441 which specifically called for serious consequences for failure to prove disarmament. Saddam was defiant to the very end, refusing to cooperate.

The opposition to the invasion from countries like France and Germany had nothing to do with their expectations of hard times in Iraq. Their oppositon was due to their oil deals, plain and simple. They had vested interests in keeping Saddam in power, and weren't about to upset their situation by helping to depose him.

              The BBC is impartial.
It would be wrong to label a group as "terrorists" when they could be "milliants". Sorry Dave, if you do choose to use a fair and unbiased website for your news then you'll have to put up with the semantics.

To be fair i pay for the BBC through a special tax. please don't moan about a service you are lucky enough to use for free.

It could be worse, you may have to rely on Fox for your news.

cuz, i hated going there, but i have yet to see what actual law we violated. curious.

like i said, if the last 10 years havent given us a reason to put up a border cage around the middle east, i dont what will. if they didnt have oil, we could ignore them like africa.
