    September 11 ...

well to most of us ... this days has become a real hardship and emotional day to remember. instead of focusing on the past events ... i hope all you people can find one thing to make a positive difference in this world.

from helping a Grandma across the street, to helping you folks carry groceries in. Whatever it is, just try to make one single positive difference.

    Enjoy your day.

Along all the highways in this area, the traffic boards all say America Remembers September 11th. I wonder if its just this area that did that?

Yeah, today is usually a pretty hard day for me. Just can't stop thinking back, remembering all that rush of emotion. I defintely can't listen to the radio. All the local stations play songs with audio clips from that day laid over it. Mothers crying and telling their children they love them, that kinda stuff. Its too much.

shiit... I just realized the reason for something I saw earlier.

I went to work this morning for 2 hours to finish up some work that needed done. When I left, I passed a loooong line of traffic and I saw a bunch of flashing lights on the highway. As I approached it, I realized that all traffic was in one of the two lanes only, and saw what seemed like 15 firetrucks and at least another 15 cop cars. All makes sense why every(?) firefighter in the area was parading around the highway at 30 mph.

A little FYI, for those of you that didn't know. On Sep. 13th of this year our assult weapons ban is going to end and weapons manufactures are able to sell semi-automatic ak-47's, uzi's and other guns that have been banned since the early 1990's.

As for 9/11 I am going to try and finish reading the 9/11 final report.

shame about the ban being lifted.
only bad things will arise from this.
its already too easy to obtain such a firearm, but without this law in effect, these weapons are going to flood into this country even more.

It`s a bit of a strange day for me what with it being my birthday too. In 2001 i couldn`t realy celebrate at all for obvious reasons but the next year i thought fuck it, time moves on and we can`t let the terrorist bastards hold us back.

I always dedicate my first drink to all those poor people that lost their lives for no reason at all.

Bring on the Freedon Tower and fuck you to all the heartless guttless bastards who bring death and misery to our great countries.

Is there going to be a time when we stop putting this on a pedestal to bring back awful memories?

I'm real sorry - for some reason the significance of the date passed by me at the time.

I am so so disappointed in myself (in mitigation, I had been totally busy at work, and the subject hadn't been raised on the UK media for some v strange reason - nevertheless the victims of this abhorent disastor should never ever be forgotten).

This time of the year fills me with v mixed thoughts - my last girlfriend was from brooklyn at the time, and, although I knew in my heart she was ok .... it took a long time to confirm this by phone. You always think of the worst scenario.

I visited and fell in love with the city shortly after.

For some reason the date and the city always make me think of lost possibilities - of the people that lost their lives .. what they could have achieved and how their families could (and should) have grown.

That's why I think that it is doubly important for the clubs to flourish in NYC, and for the likes of Sasha & Digweed to embrace the positiveness and resiliance of that city, and establish the days of Twilo at a comparable club circa pre-9/11.

I have had a few quiet moments contemplating and praying for the families that lost loved ones - anyone from [ms] reading this please, respectfully, do the same.

I actually ended up visiting the WTC site on Saturday. I didn't plan it that way, but I happened to be in the village on my way home when I noticed the columns of light, which they had going for the anniversey. I hadn't really been there except for passing by since it all happened so I figured I should go check it out.

When I got there is was quite a scene. There were lots of people there, paying respects, or just getting a look. You could see into the pit, the new PATH train station is up and running and looks very modern. At least for the time being, it is outside, unless they put the new building on top of it. They are fixing some of the buildings around the site, and it was just really weird getting my bearings because I knew that area so well when the buildings were still there, but now without them I had a hard time figureing out which way I was pointed.

There were lots of flowers and notes in the fence, some people were carring around photos of their loved ones. People were reading from books, others were preaching. There were memorial SUVs and a biker gang showed up with a memorial bike. It was hard not to get caught up in the emotions of the experiece, especially since the Port Authority had posters up recapping the events of the day.

The columns of light were great, I've always loved that memorial. They actually had it set up in a parking lot across the east side highway, and I was able to stand in between the two sets of spotlights, pretty cool. I wish I had a camera/camera phone.

Anway, I was really glad I stopped by and took some time out of my life to remember those who lost theirs.
