    DJing sound / effect processors

Well, I did do a search and it was very limited. Mostly about mixers.

I have a Xone 62, 2 turntables and 2 cdj 800mkII's. The Filter on the 62 is great but that's pretty much it. 3 different type of filters, I usually use only 1.

I think its time to go in a lil' deeper in creating effects for my mixes just to add a little "zest" to them.

So the Question!! What, in your opinions, are the best (not necessarily expensive), easiest (not too lame) effects equipment out there? Based on experience would be best.

I looked at the Pioneer efx 500 ? and an Allen & Heath Xone: VF-1 Sound processor.
Im a big time NoOb at these things, so Im not sure about that A&H one..

Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

    my $$$$ limit is between $600 - $700.

if you have not used them b4, and money is a factor, go grab a KAOS pad, they are pretty good when you are learning, but watch the levels big time. better when u use 2 (one per CDJ, before mixer) or 1 used after mixer. i have one lying around, but i prefer to let teh music talk and mix fluidly.

I've heard of the Kaos pad from a while ago. Forgot about that one...thanks man, I'll look it up and see what it has to offer.

Yeah they just came out with the KP3 and it has auto sync on it unlike like it's predecessors. I have the KP2 and the xone 62 and it they're pretty fun to mess around with. But like Sightless said, watch the levels. Theres a video floating around on here of trentmoeller at the Turnmills using the Kp2 as a midi/keyborad controller, it's pretty awesome. It's only 300 bucks. The Kp3 is $400 if I'm not mistaken. The only thing is if you're already willing to spend $700 take a look at the pioneer EFX 500.

i have used that in the past, and its GODLY. but a pain to learn, and expensive. but goddamn, its sick. multiple effects enabled, with the ability to adjust them a lot.

I'd try to find a used EFX-1000 if you can for your price range. But you could definitely get the EFX-500 which Zabiela was using for years before they made the upgrade.

screw using all that other crap, by yourself a flight rack and fill it with outboard efx units like a delay, echo, and multi layer filter. the quality will be far superior than that of the efx1000.

jeezus that's just too much right there. I barly have enough space for a small chair to fit my ass on my desk.

The Kaos pad thing looks um too playful. I dont think I wanna be messing around that much on certain tracks. Looks fun though.

Im looking for something.. I guess kinda like the knobs on my Xone (filters) that would create some changes or moods on tracks.

I kinda like the Pioneer thing and I might go for the cheaper one (500).

you can buy single pieces of outboard gear such as a filter. back when sasha still played records i saw him tweaking a rack mount filter during his set, far better than the Xone even.

I'd shy away from using that amplifier though. I don't like Alesis amps. As they clip way too easily.

i kinda figured you did bro. it's kinda funny, that guy has a lot of money into the processors in that rack, then he's got a shit Alesis amplifier. EEEK
