I joined a couple of weeks ago to get access to some links.
After browsing around for a while today, i discovered that there was quite a few interesting folks here.
Most of you guys are from the states, right?
I live in Norway (that's way up north in Europe). I used to make alot of music in my younger days. I started listening to Techno-music in the early 90s. It started out with 'Gabber-music' (rofl), but Pete Namlooks' project '4-voice' got me addicted to the classic trance music. -not the trancemusic we have today, but the good stuff, like Oliver Lieb's early work, stuff from the labels 'Eye Q' and 'Superstition'. I started exploring the techno-genre some more and discovered labels such as Harthouse, Plastic City, Traxx and so on. I fell deeply in love with Hardfloor's use of the tb-303. 'Into the Nature' is still one of the greatest tracks ever made. As the years went by i also got into the more laidback side of the genre, like stuff from G-stone and Ninja Tune.
Thinking back there's been SO many great artists that've had a big influence in my life.
here's some of my current Gods:
Simon Posford (Shpongle, Younger Brother, Hallucinogen, Mystery of the Yeti, Celtic Cross)
Richie Hawtin aka Plastikman
Future Sound of London
The KLF!
Hardfloor
Terry Lee Brown Jr
The Timewriter
Ian Pooley
Eatstatic
Anders Trentem?ller
Oliver Lieb
Etienne de Crecy
...bah! the list would just go on and on, so i'll stop there.
I'm also the worlds biggest Transformers-fan, so i'm really looking forward to this summer!
