After what seems like forever, we're finally getting some good music here. Digweed played last month. This month we have Benny Benassi and Mark Farina. Then next month we get James Zabiela. For what seems like years before the hurricane, all we've been getting were breaks DJ's like Icey and Baby Anne.

Re: New Orleans
i live in an area that didn't get much if any damage. but when i came back early last year the whole city had the smell of bourbon st. at 2 p.m. on a hot summer afternoon!Don't let anyone drive you crazy when you know it's in walking distance.

Re: New Orleans
it took only 25 minutes for Benny Benassi to drive me out of that place. FUCKING, well i can't even add a description to that. it was bad. first track was prydz - brick in the wall ( which i fucking love ), then the next track had us looking around saying " these 2 don't mix well at all." as the intro finished, we realized it was higher state of consciousness. the next track was a real vocal high energy track. at this point we agreed that we'd give it about 20 minutes to play out. when the next track kicked in i had had enough and told my friend that i was ready when ever he was. we waited until the next track came in then ran kicking and screaming out the place. it was like listening to an ibiza anthem compilation cd from 8 yrs ago. i had to leave there and go straight to my old watering hole to wash the bad taste out of my mouth.
the only dj to ever get me to leave the area that quickly was franky bones back in 1999. honestly, to have me ready to leave after the 3rd track, WOW!Don't let anyone drive you crazy when you know it's in walking distance.

Re: New Orleans
yes i am so glad there are good shows to go to in NOLA again. My favorite place in the whole world.... I loved Diggers, and am looking very forward to Zabiela and Fanciulli. Glad I didn't waste my money and time on Bennasi though. May try to make Farina show... : )

Re: New Orleans
i need to retrack my distaste for benassi. as it turns out, someone unscheduled to play played for about 45 min. between the opener and benassi. so we actually missed him by about 10 minutes. oops!Don't let anyone drive you crazy when you know it's in walking distance.
