So they coated the cd with thermal stuff so the cd looks different after you play it in the player and then fades back to black when it cools off. Kind of like the Massive Attack box set from years ago. Looks like a pretty sweet idea.
Now all the viral crap done to market this cd before by 'leaking' tracks on to the net etc didnt do much for me, but this is a pretty creative idea.
i'd rather just buy a cd that has really good music on it. And no frills to try to tempt me to buy a cool color changing cd that's only going to see my cd player once.
haven't liked him since downward... and Broken. Those are the only two cd's i'll listen to from him...notice I don't say THEM.
agree, i guess i grew out of the industrial phase when i was a teen, around the downward spiral time. still think trent is somewhat of a musical genius, but not interested any more. the time has past.
I followed the leaked track as they came out and listened to the whole album when it was being streamed on the NIN website, but I gotta tell ya...I'm not really diggin' it too much. Just seems kinda bland. Everyone talks so much shit about With Teeth, but I think it smokes Year Zero.
With all the studio crap he owns at his disposal you'd think he'd be able to come up with something that just screams "buy me" but I am less than impressed. Guess I'm like a lot of you in that his music just doesn't move me anymore. Then again I'm in a 'Amon Tobin' stage of my life right now so that could possibly explain it...

Also when the cd changes color there is some information that shows up on the disc that leads to another web site that has do with the year zero concept.
