Adding Macbook to a work Network?

I just got a Macbook and im having problems at work. At work we have an internal net work with multiple drives to save and share stuff. But since i have my macbook, i cant access the network. With my PC laptop i was able because my login and password to enter windows would actually log me in the network. Now, i dont have that and i cant see the network drives in Finder.

Does anyone have a clue on how to do this. My IT guy is clueless when it comes to this. Thanks
    Peace

I won't be back until next Tuesday, so if Get Carter is the correct answer, I would appreciate of someone else posts a new cap for me

Afaik, samba is a way to make linux / windows machines talk to each other. Google it
