It means you can rip HD DVD movies and play them on Linux / Windows. The key will be revoked in the future.

yeah i think code i have seen linked to is written for linux, but i dont know if there is a windows port out there.
no biggie anyway, who has an hd-dvd player/burner for their pc? not me.

Due to the low price of large hard drives and HD video cards now a days more and more people are making use of HTPCs. So ripping HD movies to HD would be a big deal to them.

Stand alone HD DVD players are still expensive, at least IMO, but if you have a HTPC you can easy add an xbox HD DVD player to your system for a fraction of the price.
