Don't get me wrong. I think Reason is an excellent producing program, but I can not manipulate the sounds to my preference. I am limited to the samples that come with version 3.0. I was wondering if anyone knows of any other producing programs that are more advanced. Please let me know. Thanks for your time.
personally i think the over all sound of reason is really thin sounding, dont get me wrong it u push it u can get some nice sounding things out of it but its so dated now i persoanally dont bother with it, the sampler is handy as hell but u can do the exact same job using fruityloops if u know how to use it properly, i dont know why but i have always favoured fruity over reason as its exactly the same thing but fruity has more usable options but its a little harder to use and not as straight forward as reason, if u look at the drawbacks of reason then fruity wins hands down as u can use not only vst fx ( the fx in reason are total shit ) but also vsti, iu think this is why i preffer it to reason the most
^^^True..I'm using the Oxygen to get started..I'm a noob to production. But that thing above looks pretty cool!
if i were u i would get a hold of fruityloops and also a copy of the fruityloops bible which more or less tells u everything u need to know about the program, i,m sure there are certain places where u can et pdf tutorials for reason also
I'd rather go for one of these. For a controller, that is. Velocity sensitive keys. Semi weighted, the O8 doesn't have that and they are really nice to have in a keyboard. Plus the pads at the top for making beats and triggers...very cool.
With the M-Audio Axiom 25 you get an array of MIDI controls in a USB-powered package that won't eat up much desk space. It has velocity-sensitive, semi-weighted key action with assignable aftertouch, 8 rubberized trigger pads for drum programming, 8 endless rotary encoder knobs, 6 transport controls, pitch/mod wheels, and a backlit LCD. It also offers assignable sustain/expression pedal jacks, octave up/down keys, transpose up/down keys, 20 memory locations, and USB or AC power operation. Comes with Enigma librarian/editor software for unlimited control of MIDI setups with your computer and Ableton Live Lite 4 music production software.

I have been using Garageband. Simple, but works pretty good for me so far.

yeah, i love the pads on the top of it too. I just wish they would make a controller pad with larger pads so i could play on them with drum sticks instead of my fingers.
I wanna find out how to make my own midi controllers, which I could do then how i wanted them.
