I'm looking for an inexpensive KVM for my Mac G4 with usb mouse/keyboard and my PC with ps/2 mouse/keyboard. Also note I have the Microsoft wireless setup for this keyboard/mouse on my PC. Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Since you have a wireless setup, you'll have to do some research on which KVM switches will allow the multifunctions of your buttons to work. Good luck. -

I did a little bit of looking on NewEgg and have read some comments about various ones but it seems like if its cheap its junk or even some of the higher priced ones are crap. I was hoping maybe someone else has run into this problem and had some insight.Comment

I've used two KVM switches for my systems in the past but they were both PS/2 setups. You can get a USB to PS/2 converter for your Mac system and use one of the above KVM switches. I own an Iogear model and one from Belkin. I preferred the Belkin because I didn't lose any functionality of my wireless keyboard and mice.Comment

Cool thanks I'll look into the belkin. What particular model do you have? I use newegg, is there anywhere else like tiger direct or something that might have it?Comment

I bought mine at Fry's a couple of years ago. It's the one with a black box and all of the cables connect to it. It's not one of those small, everything built-in, models. I know it was only like $15 on sale. Just stay away from no-name, cheap crap. Remember, you get what you pay for.Comment
