Some years ago, about 5 or 6, I got send a little clip from a track called "Rumble in the jungle" by a young artist in Sweden called Ozgur Can. Ozgur's name didn't sound like a Swedish name but the music was promising! Ozgur is one of those who has steadily been working on his own sound not letting anyone tell him what to do as it was all in his mind already many years ago. Over the last 5 years orzo Ozgur has progressed into a steady and innovating artist that pushes boundaries fusing minimal, techno, house and progressive into a sound of his own in with "Energy" as a constant factor in his productions. With countless productions on labels such as Focus, Precinct, Pickadoll, Anjuna Beats, Armada, Lost language, Vapour, DEEP etc and of course his own imprint with Stian Klo called Furry Music.
" Bend the Rules' is all about energy. At 120BPM one does not expect to be confronted with such a high level of it, it?s like a can of red bull. A striking tune with a clever arrangement and dito sounds. Not much is happening it seems but this is only a smoke curtain. Subtle changes throughout the whole track make this an outstanding release that can be played in a wide variety of sets, perfect stuff!
"Something is Missing" starts off in a typical Ozgur way, empty beats and sounds, a kick that is filtered out but and before one realises you're taken away in the Ozgur train. The lead synth around 2.15minutes gives the sign to start partying on the dance floor and fills every speaker with Ozgur Energy. Uplifting and cool while subtle changes make this a great tune that could go down well in any set nowadays.
