Why is it the sellers fault? Why should he have to know the import regulations for every country? These are amatuer folks selling stuff on ebay, not profession merchants. IMO, It's Red's fualt for not asking him to label it as a gift.

i agree it WAS my fault but i have ordered over international borders many times and this is the first time i,ve hit a problem

in the end it worked out though

Nothing is a bargain on ebay.

there are lots of bargains on ebay. I got ableton live for about half the price of stores. And it was a fully REAL copy with the packaging and everything. But that was a lucky break with someone who had been able to get them from a store that was going OOB.

i have no idea wether or not this was an educational version. But it's just the same as my friends who paid the full price.

i bought a watch from the states. which was marked as gift and i still had to pay the import tax or whatever it was.

Most of these people don't know that when you send something overseas you need to mark it as a gift (i think that's what i always do) and put it as a value of $1.00 or 0.00.

got it today and the guy had marked it as a gift but the problem was that on the same slip of paper he hyad also marked the actual value of the soundcard and the new rules over here was that if its over a certain amount the buyer has to pay costoms on it, robbing bastards :@

tbh it worked out as the same amount as i would of payed for it over here so i,m not all that bothered now but i thought i was gettin a bargain

not everyone selling things on ebay is a pro. unless you tell them what you want them to do, they don't know. how are you gonna get mad at some guy for shipping you a product you asked for? customs isn't his responsibility, though if he would have been asked to have it labled as a gift i'm sure the seller would have obliged.
