1999 URB Mag Sasha Interview (modem users beware!)

I recently found this old 1999 URB mag in my stash while cleaning up. It had a great article on Sasha, thought all you Sasha fans may like to read it. Some interesting quotes from Sasha in it. Notice how they refer to him as a "Trance Dj" back then....

Best I could do on the scans. The images were to large to host with the MS Image Server so I put them on imageshack so I dont know how long they will last. Had to make them large so you could read the text..

they refer to him as a trance dj cause he played trance then. it was good trance, though...which has gone the way of the Dodo.

nice to see he did release some great albums, and stayed on top of things and went in cool directions too. Good for him!

I remember for a while he hurt his ear, and didn't do any gigs for the longest time, and had no new material released, and everyone was doubting whether he would come up with anything, and if he did if it would be any good. He was working in the shadow of xpander, you know?

Too bad URB is now pretty much a hip hop magazine. You'll probably never see him of Diggers on the cover of that mag again.

I havent picked up an URB in quite a while not sure what its like now but it seemed heavily Hip-hop oriented back then as well. Although, there is a lot of EDM content in this issue like movie reviews for Better Living Through Circuitry and Groove. There is even an advertisment in it for Digweed's Bedrock CD. Main reason I bought the mag was because of the Sasha article. Even though it was 8 years ago, It just seems like yesterday I bought it.

Funny you brought it up though, looks like we almost didnt see Sasha on the cover either....

Thanks for the good read. The memories of the good old days. No cares in world and getting wasted every weekend. Fun times. Now it is all work and very little fun anymore. Oh well I guess it is part of life after college.
