dood, calling us haters for being REALISTIC isn't exactly helping anything. the public's view of oil companies is completely screwed up, and emails like this are just adding to that.
Oil is traded in futures, you pay today for delivery in 30 / 60 days. You may be lucky and pay $1 a barrel today then on delivery day it rises to $2 a barrell. Or you could shafted the other way.
OPEC decide how many barrells they wil ship a month, this does have an impact on price. If demand is high and OPEC cut supply, prices rise.
Weather also plays a part, warm winters = cheap heating oil.
Remember that when gas companies raised the price of gas over $2.00 per gal. They argued that gas would be in short supply. There is more gas now than 35 years ago when the price was 29? per gal.
Gas companies want us to believe that gas is cheap at 1.99? per gal.
WE CAN DO IT !
HOW?
As we all need our vehicles, we cannot simply stop buying gas.
However, we can have a significant impact on the price of gas
IF WE ACT TOGETHER
to initiate a
PRICE WAR!!!
It is absolutely
NECESSARY
To continue purchasing our gas
ELSEWHERE
Than at
Exxon and SHELL
and this, until we reach our objective.
And, MOST OF ALL, LET US
FORWARD THIS MESSAGE!
CAN WE COUNT ON YOU…?
I also heard that AOL, for every person you forward this message to, is donating 5 cents to help little 8 month old Johnny Longwood in his life threating battle against testicular swelling.
It's never too late to become the person you always thought you would be.

hahhahha
i'm getting 5 bucks each time i post something about gas on the internet
like it wood really matter all the truck drivers, huge ships and rich people that have to fill up they're yachts
If people really want to reduce gas prices, there is no quick fix or magic bullet, but the answer is easy to understand and straightforward: use less gas. Carpool, buy a hybrid, use public transportation, spend time at home with your family rather than driving to the mall every other day, move closer to your office, whatever. It's not rocket science, it's simple supply and demand. It has to be a lifestyle change, though, and these one-day, one-company boycotts are just idiotic.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to drive around town by myself with no particular place to go in my 15 mph Wrangler.
we at [ms] support energy conservation, why drive to the store to buy your favorite DJs CDs when you can be relaxed at home with a brewski and a PC and get the latest mixes online .... tgif btw

I won't be back until next Tuesday, so if Get Carter is the correct answer, I would appreciate of someone else posts a new cap for me

We must act agressively
and
Show them that the consumers
Can have some control over prices and not
only gas companies.
The best way to be successful is to hit where it hurts: their bank accounts!

This idea is suggested:
For the remainder of the year,
WE DO NOT BUY ANY GAS FROM
The two largest companies
(who are now only ONE)
Exxon and SHELL
Think about it!
If the major gas companies do not sell gas, they will unavoidably lower their prices and this will immediately result in a PRICE WAR.
In order to generate the desired impact, we must reach millions of
Exxon and SHELL consumers.
If each and everyone of you forward this message to 10 people within a day or so, we will be
300 MILLIONS
of people
To go to war against these gas companies in approximately 8 days!
Do you really believe that they
will have other options?
It is absolutely
NECESSARY
To continue purchasing our gas

That's how the dodo's went extinct: persistence in stupidity...
