Breakestra- The Live Mixtape Vol. 2 (2000)

Here's a real funk classic! The amazing Breakestra crew with a unique approach to a funk compilation CD. They cover more than 20 classics and in the style of hip-hop they flip from one song to the next with no breaks. I've had this one for years and every time I listen to it, it's just as fresh as the first time. Remember to burn this one without breaks! Don't miss out on this one.

(From Dusty Groove) Funky madness! This one's exactly what is says -- a live mix, recorded by this hip funky combo, sort of a mixtape of classic funky tunes, all slammed together in one massive performance! Breakestra run through some of the biggest funky 45s of the 60s and 70s, jamming hard in one live to tape performance that takes us back to the classic days of the JBs grooving in the studio with James Brown. Plenty of choppy guitars, hot bubbly organ, sweet keyboard licks, and hard heavy horns throughout!

        Krs-One Live in Copenhagen, Denmark

This is a live set in a store in Copenhagen, Denmark from June 22, 2005. It's just a nice set to listen to. Good quality sound and runs through the classics in this one so any Krs-One/ BDP fan should have no trouble with the tracks in this set. At just over 54 minutes in length it makes for a nice size burn on CD to listen in the car. Enjoy the show!

Run DMC Live at the Apollo 1985

The legendary trio live in concert! I don't think there can possibly ever be a hip-hop fan who is not a big fan of Run DMC. They were amazing and they have countless hits. What's not to love about hearing some old school done live? I have seen this on the net a few times so maybe some of you have it already or have heard parts of it. It originally aired on 107.5 WBLS on the Rap Attack Show with Mr. Magic. The sound is really good so definitely something you would want to keep in the old collection. I left the .txt file in the zip that I got with it when I got it off torrent. Enjoy!

De La Soul Live in London (March 18, 2005)

Here is a nice live set from De La Soul. A very creative crew with a large catalog of classics. Often overlooked for being kind of different than your average hip-hop crew, these guys have managed to earn a lot of respect for staying true to their music and their fans. I loved De La Soul and always enjoy hearing their music especially some of the radio mixes of their stuff I have. Just brings me back to the best time in hip-hop and never fails me. Hope you enjoy the show!

The Roots Live at The Brixton Academy March 29, 2003

Well, well, well...The Roots live, what a show this is. Hip-hop, funk and funk covers of hip-hop classics. This show has a bit of everything and should make you jealous of anyone who has been able to see this crew live. You just keep thinking to yourself how awesome this would be to actually be there and experience that crowd atmosphere. I can assure that you won't be disappointed by downloading this. Just great music by great musicians.

Can you offer me something nice to listen to?i'd prefer for it to have not so agressively expressed guitar sounds.
just some nice songs - lots of singing, less agressive guitars
and if you have - slower songs.

P.S. Sometimes i really need to relax, please help me
Don't confuse the conception "House" with the genre.

A Trip Before The Beatles - The Quarrymen 1960
If you are not familiar with The Quarrymen, John Lennon's 'skiffle' group, that eventually became The Silver Beatles, and then of course The Beatles, the Wikipedia article (HERE) is really interesting.

I thought of just providing some selected parts within this posting, but the whole article provides excellent background to this recording.

This rehearsal recording was made just four weeks before they changed name to The Silver Beetles, and John Lennon's friend Stuart Sutcliffe made up the quartet.

This recording was made at Paul McCartney's home early in 1960, prior to Pete Best joining as drummer, and of course the Hamburg, Germany era.

This is obviously a wonderful piece of musical history, and the audio quality reflects the historical aspect, home taping circa 1960, likely on one microphone, and with a muffled sound and hiss, that an old tape would retain however much you try to clean it up.

That said I find it fascinating, and a must have for any Beatles fan, and for anyone who values rock and pop musics heritage.

                        Track listing:

1 I Love Her So - vocals Paul McCartney
2 The One After 909 - vocals John Lennon and Paul McCartney
3 I'll Always Be In Love With You - vocals John Lennon
4 You'll Always Be Mine - vocals John and Paul
5 Match Box - vocals George Harrison
6 You Just Don't Understand - vocals Paul
7 Some days - vocals Paul
8 Thinking Of Linking - Instrumental

NOTES: Very interesting demo bootleg. It does not contain any
live song or any official material, just demos and unreleased tracks.
Check out Crash Diet and Just Another Sunday, very interesting
tracks. Early demos of Don't Cry and Welcome To The Jungle.
Anything Goes sounds completely different, so does The Garden
or Yesterdays. Check it out if you don't have it.
The sound quality is very good. Cover art is included.
