I have like 2 days before i have to give my decision. I already said yes to both but now i gotta make a choice and to be honest i dont have a fucken clue which way i am leading.. they both came at once and i thought i would keep my options open for a few days. Also the tax office spoke to my references and i am not sure when they will get in contact.

Re: Please Help What Job Should I Take
Because if you're going for the bank without a bachelor degree in finance or economy (or the likes), you'll probably be stuck with private clients and their savings accounts. Not very interesting if you ask me (in the long run).
Investments on the other hand will bring you in contact with corporate customers, (local) governments, cash loaded clients, ... Imo it offers more variety and like I said, it's interesting for your professional network.Comment

Re: Please Help What Job Should I Take
"room to grow"...do you mean industry growth, or your own personal growth? Either way, I would honestly advise you not to make the decision based on what anyone on here tells you; you need to make this decision based on what you want your life to look like and where you want to end up.
Questions for yourself:
Who am I, and what am I good at?
What do I enjoy?
Where do I think I want to end up 5, 10 years from now, and what do I need in order to get there?
Questions for your prospective employers:
What exactly will my job responsibilities be?
What are my opportunities for advancement, training, crossfunctional exposure, etc.?
What kinds of people will I be exposed to?
More questions to reflect on yourself:
What's my personal opinion of the person I'd be reporting to and the people I'd be working with?
How challenging is the job?
Unfortunately, none of these can be answered by anyone except for you, because only you know what you ultimately seek in life.mixes: www.waxdj.com/miroslavComment

Re: Please Help What Job Should I Take
My friend has been working at various banks. He went to UCLA and graduated with some sort of Economics degree. He tells me it's a bit difficult to move up in positions at banks. Room to grow yes, but hard to move up. He's stuck doing shit he really doesnt like.
He's has been going to ucla extension to get more experience/certificates or degrees for banking and stuff... soo that's all I have to say on that matter.
Dont know much about Investment companies.Comment

umm you need to be more specifc...
what exactly are you going to be doing according to the position descriptions? what do you want to be doing in the future?
how big are each of the firms? is it an international bank, or domestic only?
you gotta provide alot more specifics if you want an answer that will be at all useful...Comment

follow your heart....you want to enjoy what you are doing. If the other job is something you will enjoy more then in the bank I would do that. There is nothing worse then working a job you hatesigpic
