Hey now i dont claim to know anything about these sets other than they were initially released in mp3 form as Carl Cox & Sasha Mix Masters 1997 Sides A&B. I will go as far as saying, These two had never before or since played on one set[except the Emmense Velocity set which is also disputed] so how would we know if it theres or not, and The Mix is Old and should be that hard to find in a commercial mixtape bin in the basement somewhere in Timbuktu with a label that was ORIGINAL

Well for a start just because its got 2 tracks on it that Sasha played (Sasha didn't play that mix of scared It was the lonely traveler mix)

Most DJ where playing them tracks around that time. Pete Tong, Jeremy Healy, John Pleased Wimmin, and so on. Here's how i see it some dodgy record shop wants to make some money selling mix tapes. So they can either record a mix with one of there mates and try and sell it using his name and may bee sell about 5. Or they can get their mate to record a mix. Then put Sasha and Carl Cox's name to it and sell 100's. This happened in UK record shops up and down the country. The Positive Collection, The Ibiza Collection, The Pure Pleasure all contained a great deal of fakes. Not to mention all the Vertigo sets that where pedaled as Sasha. That's what people did to get their mixes heard in the 90's

Heres a post of mine from another board to save me writing it all out again.

I'm always really weary of sets witch have odd Djs playing all together. That Sasha, Dave Seaman & Paul Oakenfold Fierce On 3 decks is probably the best example. I couldn't even imagine Paul Oakenfold & Sasha playing back2 back even without Dave Seaman. And when you listen to the mix its absolutely filled with the biggest tracks from mix Cd's that they released at the time. I recon some kid Djing in his bedroom made it and knew nobody would listen to it. So put it out on soul seek with some big named djs to the file to get people to listen to it. That Tenaglia, Digweed and Danny Howells Halloween one is another.

Oh I get yeah, I just didnt want to think that someone would dick around with people like that. Then again Im the Immovable Force, I'l always give Humans more than they usually give themself [i suppose thats another reason why i love sasha and his works so much].

Who ever this is, mercuryserver most likely will be able to figure who it really is.



Now thats said, what the chances of us actually finding the 1997 mixtapes from sasha still unRIPed? All we seem to find is JJJ with Digs, Tyrant[BOMB], logic 97, DJ in the Box, and maybe Housemasters 1996 & Twilo 98.

If there out there, I'm makin a call out for them. All of them! If you have a friend or associate that you know has many mixtapes and that they may have djsasha works in there, tell em to dig em up and We'll figure out who its from as best we can on these internet forums!
I know its a shot in the dark, yet I think it'll drag more to light.

Yeah there is a break in the music near the end (around tracks 9 to 10) so there should be at least another 35 minutes (working on the idea that both tapes where 60 min). That's why I bought the tape, I've been curious about this for some time. I would of paid a lot more than 99p to find out to. Simonr mite have some sexy things to add soon to
