Paris CD is ok...first cd varies from quite atmospheric and interesting to pretty damn cheesy. Second starts well but starts to lose it after the first 2 tracks and then loses it completely by about track 6. I do love the Blue Fountain 'Sweep' track but apart from that it's very forgettable IMO.

Warren was disappointing last time I caught him at Turnmills.

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.

Why do you want Digweed to return to that sound when there are other dj's playing it just as good i.e. Warren, Cattaneo etc? Surely as long as the tunes are decent and you like them it doesn't matter who the dj is. Far too much emphasis put on who the dj is really for my liking. A tune is a tune no matter who plays it.............

Yeah, but there is a difference when it comes to how and when they play it

I would only slightly agree - I think 90% of the people who go on about building sets etc dont even go clubbing - when I go clubbing I just want to hear good tune after good tune, I'm not interested in 6-7 warm up bland tracks and then a couple of good ones really

well first I do go to clubs quite often

I've always been of the opinion that anyone could play good tunes (especially now with ableton), but it tends to be the filler tracks that define a dj to me and when I say filler, I don't mean throwaway tracks, I mean the tracks in between all the big tracks you know. Do you really want to hear big track after big track? If I know even half the tracks a particular dj is playing I might as well stay home and throw on some sets.

As for the build, I find that a terribly underestimated part of the presentation. I don't want to walk into a club (assuming I'm there early) to a banging set, nor do I want to hear nothing but banging tracks for hours on end. A well crafted set, imo, allows me to let it all out when the dj plays slamming (hopefully unknown) tracks, with some breathers in there so I could go the long haul and do it again when the djs ready to bring it again.

Though I do admit this philosophy may be the result of way too many years hearing many djs do incredibly extended all-night/morning sets in NYC (Danny Tenaglia & Sasha Digweed at Twilo probably most of all)

Oh gee I don't know, I didn't mean to bash Mr. Digweed. My tastes just run to the more melodic stuff. We still love Mr. Diggers.
The djs took pills to stay awake and play for seven days......

Mr. Digweed, please go back to melodic prog. Please abandon the bleepy minimalist techno crap you've been spinning lately. Please make a two disc set like Mr. Warren with a downtemp disc 1 as great as cd1 of Paris. Please show us you're still number 1. Mr. Warren needs some competition in the category of tune selection and smooth flow. It's lonely at the top. Reykjavik, Shanghai, Paris - the trifecta.

I think they are both awesome! but IMHO, i certainly enjoyd the digweed from earlier times more... i love s & D together best of all... Southfest springs to mind, and one in hungary where whoever ecorded it had the bass turned upp too high adn ruined one of the best s&d sets ever! lol

But honestly, Nick warren on the Shanghai tour actually came to New zealand, and played for 5.5 hours and my fuck, it was SUBLIME! soooo many awesome trax, he even dropped Sex Pistols anarchy in the UK (not a electronic remix - the original) and it worked!!!

Not many DJS can be that diverse during a set and make it fit so proper...

Big Ups to Diggers and Warren!

p.S COME BACK TO NZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please
