Lock a file on a USB key? help!

does anyone know a good software solution to get a file locked on a usb key?

my company wants to use usb keys for promotion but they want to be able to put a company profile PDF on the key that cannot be deleted. i know that this probably requires software so thought i'd see if anyone has any recommendations.

    thanks!

is this possible? i would think that this would be a component of the filesytem, and all you need to do is just format over the fs and it is gone. unless you do some kind of unreadable block tricks in the usb device itself to make it unremovable somehow (kind of i think like they try to do with secureROM for cdrom games, make sectors bad/unreadable so your copy fails), but even with the alcohol prog this is breakable.

    but i am no expert....

^ ^ It is possible. There are usb keys made with software that cannot be deleted unless you find the proper software (made by same manufacturer) that will delete the proprietary stuff.

if the person(s) who get the keys know enough to format the keys then good for them... i reckon average joe salesman doesnt so i just want to lock the file so it can't be deleted by hitting the delete key or whatever. i dont expect to make it unformattable or anything.

Attach a dog collar to it. One that zaps.
