Would artists' albums be better mixed?

I think so. That 2-3 seconds of silence between tracks annoys the shit out of me. I'm not saying that have to be dj mixed, but the tracks should at least blend in to one another.

I myself pretty much always prefer mixed. To me the whole art and nature of the mix is such a core part of this musical form...

mixed imo but sequenced is ok 2 if its done properly

Either.. i prefer unmixed so that i can just buy the cd and play the tracks..otherwsie i will have to buy the vinyl pack as well..

the trouble with artists albums is you rarely get 10 complete blinders.

with some obvious exceptions.

the DJ Remy artist album was mixed - and its a blinder!
Slams Alien Radio is unmixed and superb

so.. quality music > format

Depends on what the producer(s) are aiming for. If they have an overarching theme to the album, or if the tracks can fit in together. There's no straightforward answer to mixed or unmixed. No point having tracks mixed or sequenced together if they're not meant to. It could just be a collection of tracks produced over a period of time.
