It seems there are only 3-4 posters here on this thread so I am interested in hearing how everone feels about seeing Vlady winning the homerun dingfest.....since all the baseball heads are already here no new post needed and didn't search for one;

Vlad is a throwback. All freak athelete. Doesn't even wear batting gloves. lol. And that swing!! holy crap! his entire torso looks like it's going to go into orbit. When you talk about big superstar hitters who have not cheated the game, there are only a handful i can honestly say 100% didn't cheat...Vlad is one of them, griffy is another, and arod. The rest, i have my doubts.Comment

wow, tony la russa is being a dickhead to pujols for no reason. i know he's the manager for the all-star game and he can play who he wants, but why didn't he let pujols play AT ALL last night? personally, i think pujols has a right to be upset. his manager ignored him the whole game and then bashed him in the press saying "pujols can be upset if he wants to. it doesn't matter. this is america. there are more important things than the all star game." what a crock of crap... ignore him and then bash him? not the right response to your BEST player that is confused as to why he didn't get to play. hopefully they will both start acting like grownups soon and carry on....Should I fuck you at that not until the ass, inject then tremendously hard bumschen and to the termination in the eyes yes?Comment

I 100% did not get that at all. It seemed as if he went out of his way to not play Pujols. You have the bases loaded, down by two. Base hit wins the game, anything other than a walk and it's over. Availability for extra innings is of limited importance at that point. Why not bring a great clutch hitter to the plate with the game on the line? C'mon, Tony, I know you've seen Albert come through with the game on the line before, why not give him the opportunity to do it then? Nobody -- and I mean NOBODY -- would think that you were showing favoritism to get your player some time.
Puzzling. How is the All-Star manager selected? They botched it this year -- I'm not in the camp of folks that hates LaRussa, but this is definitely not his year...Comment

i think the managers are the world series coaches from the previous year.
i also thought it was funny that leyland admitted he didn't start his 3 tigers 1-2-3 in the batting order specifically because he didn't want to show favoritism. he, instead, started them 6-7-8 or something like that. respectable. yet, i'd want to win the game now that it ain't just an exhibition. personally, i think his lineup was much better how he used it rather than start his 3 minions 1-2-3. can't go wrong with ichiro leading off.Should I fuck you at that not until the ass, inject then tremendously hard bumschen and to the termination in the eyes yes?Comment

Classic LaRussa over managing. How hard is it to just play your best player available? It's the All Star game ffs. Pujols hits .400+ with bases loaded. And hey, what a better way to try to get your slugger out of the HR slump he's been in than to put him on that stage in that situation.
You listen to 590 at all Toasty? Slaten's show? lol. He'll make you mad at first, but i have grown to dig his brutal approach. On from 3-5 or 3-6 daily or something, give it a shot sometime. Man LaRussa got creamed today.Comment

I do listen to 590 a bit, but I'm typically still at the office at that time of day and I'm only in my car for 20 minutes at a time anyway, so I miss out on that sort of thing.
LaRussa deserved to get creamed today. Albert Freaking Pujols riding the pine with bases loaded, two outs, and the game on the line?
Tony ought to be in jail.
