Taken under the wings of Dutch super producer duo 16 Bit Lolita?s the sound of Bas van der Laken, as K?Lavander (Deep Records, Morrison Recordings) is called in real life, began to take shape. Today his mature and hard to categorize sound is slowly making a name for itself in dance industry. Expect the right drive and groove plus lovely harmonies that?ll instantly give you goosebumps.
When K?Lavander came up with the original idea for ?Don?t Bother? it were U.S. based Glenn Morrison and Rotterdam resident Human Adams that locked themselves in their studio to tweak the track. The collaboration between the three ended up in one extraordinary piece of music. An extremely catchy bass hook, together with a guitar-like melody and a female vocal part do the trick in a simple but very effective way. ?Don?t Bother? proved to be absolute dancefloor material in clubs from The Netherlands to Switzerland and is still getting more plays everyday.
Yvel & Tristan, both hailing from Hungary, provide the first remix on this release. Crazy about the original they were delighted getting to remix ?Don?t Bother?. They heavily twisted the knobs in their studio and deliver a track that?s perfect for the coming summer. A more laidback feeling with lush pads, a reworked melody and nice, warm soundscapes are the elements that?ll make the sun shine.
The second remix is from fellow Rotterdam colleague Muzikjunki. 2007 could well become th? year for him as he?s exploding on the scene with both original productions and remixes on labels like Gangsta Audio, Dekay House, Deep Focus, CR2 and of course Groovecollection. Muzikjunki kept the original vibe and feel but added that crunchy sound of his to give ?Don?t Bother? a more funky and housey twist. Getting plays from dj?s like Nick K this one should easily get the recognition it deserves.
