i'm going in tommorow to do preliminary testing to participate in a clinical study to see how this one medicine reacts to another medicine for nausea. Apparently i'll be getting $3000 for participating, which is the whole reason i'm doing it in the first place. Anyone done something like this? what was your experience?
anyone been a subject in a clinical trial?

Re: anyone been a subject in a clinical trial?
see, i could understand doing this once or twice, with the right research done to fully appreciate the risks inherent in such a trail.
doing it all the time though...i think thats a bit risky. there is a reason they pay people so much for what seems like nothing. being part of initial human tests is not without risks. imagine having been in the trial for phen phen...Comment

I'm almost sure that's taxable income. That's part of the reason my buddy does it -- he's actually a professional poker player, but doing the trials gives him legitimate income he can report.Comment

Anonin, be a sperm donor instead. Booku bucks for no risk.
And yes, it is taxable. I think you can earn up to 750 (approximately) tax free, but after that you have to pay taxes on it. You will have to complete a w-9 as part of your payment paperworkIt's never too late to become the person you always thought you would be.Comment

being a sperm donor isn't as easy as it sounds. you can't just go in, rough up the suspect, and collect your cash, otherwise we'd all be freaking rich.
you have to stay on a pretty strict routine, which includes abstinence, and only dropping your fish off for the clinic and pretty much nowhere else. you can only make so many "donations" a month, since your count has to build back up to make an acceptable deposit for the next time.Comment

I am a donor, and I don't find the routine taxing at all. If you lead a healthy lifestyle to start with...it should involve no real changes, only curtailing temptaion once in a while. What they pay though makes it worthwhile, (plus I dont' want kids, but helping others who do, is a nice feeling). It's never too late to become the person you always thought you would be.Comment

how much do they buy spunk for ?
and in answer to the clinical trials thing - it depends on how big the risks are!? $3000 sounds like a lot tho?
You should check out doing sleep studies as a control - you can earn loads of cash for sleepign in a lab a coupla times!....Freak in the morning, Freak in the evening, aint no other Freak like me thats breathing....

Re: anyone been a subject in a clinical trial?
no, but i've been on the other side of it, helping out with selecting the candidates for the trial...one warning, you know those warnings and side effects for those pharmaceutical drug ads that are spoken way too quickly at the end of commercials? well you're it basically. hopefully the trial you're in for doesn't have those nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, heart palpatations, etc side effectsComment

$3000?????? I don?t know nothing about medicine, but for that amount of money, the deal seems to be very risky. I prefere stay with my empty pockets, but my full-of-health life....Itīs a spiritual thing!
