Sasha - Live @ Cozmic, Communication, NL 12-16-01 3+ hours
Not his normal stuff for December 2000. Funny how not one single track on this was on the the Gatecrasher set 4 days before this set and not one appeared on his Bondi Beach essential mix 2 weeks later
Never was a big fan of this one. Agree with your points chunky but didn't groovecollection.nl release this themselves? Just wouldn't think they'd release a fake or mis-labeled set.
I dont know if groovecollection released it. But the date doesn't add up originally it was dated 2001, then superwave backtracked and changed it 2000. I just cant see Sasha playing them tracks particulary the Lady track. The Lady was from the end of 2000. Interestingly 4 of the tracks ID ed on this set appeared on Lawler's Essential Mix 2 months later
Id say late 1999. but Paul Van Dyk never plays the most upfront tracks so it could be later. If the mixing was better you could almost pass this off as Sasha

That Gatecrasher set was a long long night : Midnight til 7.30. So Sasha was carting a lot of tracks around (part of the night was b2b with Sander)
Are we placing this at December 2000 (rather than 2001 ?).

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.
This could be late 2001 (which means we can't use the Gatecrasher Webcast or Bondi wets for comparison).
Definately not the stuff Sasha was playing late 2000 to mid-2001.

Some parts of it to me say, Sasha, especially the opening few tunes, but as noted already, some of the 'usuals' aren't present.
Will update what i recognise, for what it's worth anyway - The upload that's 1 part though is difficult to decipher, as the initial parts have been resegmented incorrectly.
So, i think it should be something like this:
01. Echomen - Orient
02. ID
03, Tigerhook Corp. presents Deep C & Randall Jones - We Are The Future
04. Weekend World or Cirque - (Not sure which track at the mo, but defo something on Weekend World)
05. Chilled Eskimos - Take Me Away (Circulation Remix)
06. Cevin Fisher - Love You Some More (Steve Lawler's Flight To Atlanta Mix)
07. ID
08. Modjo - Lady (Danny Tenagli)a
09. ID w/Celeda - The Underground acapella?
10. Celeda - The Underground (Saeed & Palash's Addictive Trip Mix)

No ... and the style isn't the way he was playing in December (my excuse for saying this was more likely to be late 2001 ).
Space, Temple of Love, Pacha BA and Octopus sets were slightly earlier ... but still pretty dark for the summer and he hadn't lightened up by later that year based Gatecrasher on Bondi ... or his 4 hour post ear injury re-appearance at Cream in 2001.
But it's a well put together set that could easily be him - maybe he just decided to play other tracks, had been differently inspired (or had a record box go missing).
The Chilled Eskimo's is a strange one for him to drop .. so I'm sufficiently confused

The track list is definitely from 2000. You will be hard pushed to find a Sasha set from 2001 without Tocharian - Lacuna on it. Its was Sasha's biggest track of 2001. He even played it when he did that really underground set at Homelands in the Space Arena.
This set has also been relabeled. It used to be called Sasha @ Cosmic, Communicate Munster (Germany) and oddly neither club shows up on any search other than this set.
So we have a
Fictitious Venue
Acapellas
A Track Selection varying over 2 years
Mojo Lady
I think this is someone in their bedroom that bunged this on soulseek to get people to listen to it
