Before spending a few years in law enforcement, I wanted to be a firefighter, so I spent loads of time doing ride alongs with the local fire department. Assuming you are not in a major city, its probably going to be lots of false alarms and responding to home protection systems that were set off by the dog farting or the like. That being said...once I am done with med school I plan to get back into the rescue services in some capacity as well...the thrill of rolling out all lights and sirens is like nothing else, so get excited for that first "all call" (when all trucks respond).
