^^^^ I think he's out of chicago if I'm not mistaken. He did a remix of "we make contact" which I can't remember who the original artist is off the top of my head, but it's a pretty cool track. I caught Little Mike at club sky in Austin one night. It was a pretty cool set(if your into minimal techy, bleep bleep stuff) which I can handle in moderation. A nice head phuck to say the least.

He is a DJ out of Denver. He has been in the local scene for years playing clubs and parties. I am not sure when he moved out away from Denver, be he is in Germany now as John mentions before the mix. His MySpace page:

Yeah he helped put Beatport together and moved to Berlin when Beatport decided to have a section of their company across the pond.

I honestly listened to about as much as I could of both mixes, before I deleted them.

I like it. i think you have to give it a proper listen all the way through. good programming and its been fun to see him get more props.

one thing about little mike in regards to his denver residency is that he is the ONLY opening dj that consistency got the room proper warmed up for a wide variety of genres and hundreds of djs that came through here over the years.

digweed and the likes began requesting him and only him due to very unprofessional openings with many others in the denver area who didn't know their role. mike was humble and perfect EVERY time.

I'm halfway through Digweed's set from this week and I had to come here to post a new thread about it, looks like I'm not the only one enjoying this week's offering!

To be honest, I think we don't have enough threads about the sets posted.. especially in the P&R forum, most peeps just say thanks, which is cool, but really now we need more info about mixes that why we like/dislike rather than just grabbin sets like crazy.

Anyways... looks like I have to check this set out, I haven't heard of little mike so I figured I could skip this.

That's one of the biggest problems the big dj's have with their opening dj. They don't know how to do a proper opening set. Most of the dj's try to play their biggest tracks they have to try to "show up" the headliner and make themselves look better to their friends. I'm sure there are a few in each city who seem to get all the opening gig's but never do the headliner proper respecting opening slot music.

mike would take it to the next level most nights. there were some nights that you were just about to explode you were SO ready for the headliner. he gave them the room on a silver platter. it was like 2 hours of building and waiting for the top to pop, all the headliners had to do was lay down a phat opening track and the room was their's.

now doing that night in and night out and across mutilple genre's is the mark of a great professional dj, and that was little mike here.

digweed set was ok, maybe a bit weaker than his recent ones but easy going and a fun listen.
moreover i especially liked the first half of the little mike mix which contained some tracks that make me getting lost in the beats (a bit monotonous.. yes).
btw brilliant moment during minute 29! track id anyone?
