    Tour de France 2007

Anybody watching the race this year? During the past few days the caravan passed through the Alps and like always that meant fireworks. T-Mobile lost 1/3 of their riders in the race and Valverde, Mayo, Soler yesterday, but especially Rasmussen displayed some great climbing skills.

Rasmussen is riding 3 days in the yellow jersey AND the climber jersey , but my guess is that he will lose the yellow again during the folliwing days. The Dane is great at climbing, but he sucks at time trials.

Tom Boonen is riding in green at the moment and I guess that will stay throughout the entire race. At least I hope

It sure became a lot more interesting since Lance Armstrong retired...

    All info here.

And oh btw: here you can follow the tour in real time through gps tracking (plus additional data like heart rate, cadence, speed, power of the racing cyclists).

The interactive map you mean? Yeah, found it yesterday and tested it today during the race.

Great job from Vasseur today: last Tour he rides and he wins an etappe.

No changes as far as the jerseys are concerned.

The best period to go there is between December and March/April.

Back on topic: Patrik Sinkewitz (T-Mobile) tested positive on high testosterone levels a month ago. ARD and ZDF (the German national TV stations) instantly pulled the plug on the Tour: no more live coverage. ARD and ZDF already announced before the Tour they would do this if there was another doping scandal. Good call imo.

LMAO @ T-Mobile for proclaming in every newspaper that they worked to be the cleanest team in the sport. YEAH RIGHT, fucking losers...

Robert Hunter was lucky that Tom Boonen was slow down by a few idiots falling off their bike 1km before the finish. Either way, nothing changes with the jerseys.

Speaking of which: Rasmussen (currently in yellow) has been tossed out of the Danish national team because he missed a few doping tests. Rasmussen won't be there at the WC nor at the Olympics.

not good news, makes you questioning whether his etappe winnings from last year (remember his solo ride for over 200km) were real.

The only cool thing about the Tour De France was that an american went across the pond for all those years in a row and and beat the snot out of the french at their silly little bicycle race. Now that that's over, i'm struggling to find any interest.

It's been like this for decades though. It's just been brought to more attention. Being in the cycling circles for years, you see and hear a lot of what's going on. It wasn't a secret.
And LeMonde > Armstrong. Ahh to the good ol' days of Cycling.
