Its to make up for how shit the new one series hatchback looks. That looks good although it will be interesting to see what price it will be.

I haven't figured this one out yet. What is the "1" series ? is it some sort of lowered "M" model? Doesn't it have just as much power as the 335 ? If yea, then wtf ?

I won't be back until next Tuesday, so if Get Carter is the correct answer, I would appreciate of someone else posts a new cap for me

the 1 series has been around in europe for a while i think. i think they tried the 1 here before in the us w/ a hatchback and since hatchbacks suck ass it failed. now they are bringing it back w/o the hatchback. it looks to have about has much hp as the 335i, dunno if it has quite the same torque curve though. i hope not

Normally the 1 series looks like this:

If you wanna spend 45.000 Euros on the 1 series you can get the M1

@ Resonator: The 135i in your picture more looks like the smallest 3 series car available though...here they look different and not so much coup?-a-like. Are you sure this is a 135i and not a new 318 or 320 or something like this? This article also shows a complete different chassis for the USA 135i version:

I test drove a 130 three years ago before I bought my car and it just looked too small and ugly for the price they wanted so I did not buy it. Engine and driving feeling is 100% BMWish though but it's like wanting to drive a BWM but can't really afford it so you go with the 1 series.

the pics from the link dont seem right to me, they arent bringing a hatchback over b/c it failed over here before i think. if you check bmwusa.com it has the pics of the official 135i and i think it looks the same as the ones i posted. no hatchback which is what i think they are trying to avoid. but im no expert and havent been paying all that close of attn to the situration

The 1 series is a budget BWM and they are bringing back the budget 3 series as well. Quite ugly but oh well. There are enough ugly women who will want one thinking it will somehow make them more attractive.

To quote Jeremy Clarkson, here's the top 5 of the most rubbish things in the world:
                      1. AIDS
                      2. Bush
                      3. Iran
                      4. Gordon Brown
                      5. The BMW 1 series

                      "Yes, it's that bad."

Oh you get a special hatchback free version in the USA? Cool because it makes the car look ugly as fuck and it surely looks better without it but I really do not see the difference between a 3 series and the "new" 1 series. Main thing is BMW has something to announce I guess.....

is there such a thing as a "lowered "M" model?"

yes, the insulting M2 and M1 that've been in production since 2005

were rumored to have been slightly less powered than the top of the line 3 but with a marginally lighter weight (being 2 door), I reckon they held on to being faster.

                              Feck me! I didn't know. I should be ashamed. I still own an E30 M3 and a E46 M3 Cabrio.
