    Satoshi Tomiie's Nubreed

    Opinions?

I pulled this out recently after not listening to it in a while. FUCK!!! I forgot how much I like this mix. When it came out I played the fuck out of it, in fact Satoshi was one of my favorites that year. I saw him a few months after it came out and he was awsome. Not really heard much from him lately, his Renaissance 3D mix was so-so, nothing compared to his Nubreed. This was easily the best mix cd he did..... His productions are still top notch.....

I believe that it was described as "the sound of a perfectionist at the peak of his craft" , that about sums it up for me....

anyway, what do you think of it....?

i never really like this one. there are a few cool tunes, but as a whole i thought it was really boring - especially the second disc.

I liked it when it first came out, but I played it aain last year after a long break and I couldn't get into it - there are a couple of great tracks on it (Jerry Bonham!) but this one hasn't aged well.............

Pelo, what the hell are you talking about. The nubreed series is probably the best series GU ever had. All of them are good in there own way.

^^^^^ Right on, the Nubreed series was some of the best set ever released. IMO it is what the Balance Series was inspired by..... the Pappa Nubreed is probably the best one along with the Howell's then Satoshi's. I also enjoyed Sander's, but was not that fond of Lawlers or Lee Burridge's mixes.... still pretty good though

i've said it before and i'll say it again, danny howells' nubreed is one of the best mix comps ever done...

satoshi, on the other hand...his has not aged well at all.

I also pulled satoshi's nubreed out this past week, but hesitated to play it, not because it's not a totally sic mix but because imo it's one of those mixes that deserves an hour of your attention to really appreciate and I didn't have an hour at that moment. I did pull aidrawndagger out this week, and as always really love the uniqueness of this mix, such a cool disc

It was fun while it lasted...

ditto that. this was the one nubreed compilation that i could never really get into.. will try again, who knows.

Satoshi's Nubreed was one of my fave from him, but I agree that it's one of the weaker Nubreeds.

I absolutely love this !! My first dance event I saw Satoshi and a friend gave me this, my first dance album. I think it's stood up beautifully !! I still play it !! I agree about the Nubreeds being the best
I've seen Satoshi 3 times since and he has changed a little too much for me.

btw. I play Airdrawndagger the day after parties

Well that's a very eclectic way to get into EDM.

I'm sorry but the Satoshi NU never did it for me.
It had excellent track selection but poor sequencing/mixing especially compared to the other NUBREED efforts. You can tell that he's a producer that became a DJ, whereas all the other NU guys are the other way around.
