    The sound of Summer

I don't know about you guys & girls, but I always tend to hook up my Summer feeling to a specific tune. This year it isn't EDM for a change, but...

maroon 5...haven't heard them in years

this past week or two i've been on a huge jazz kick. listened to a stack of coltrane and miles albums and some newer stuff like kurt rosenwinkel and greg osby. I think i've been listening to because i started playing guitar a lot again - and there's too many goddamn sets out there to weed through to kinds the goodies.
I think i'd kill myself if i only listened to EDM

      good thread

          I kinda dig this tune

          " Darkness Imprisioning Me
          All That I See
          Absolute Horror
          I Cannot Live
          I Cannot Die

Tiddles, you ever listen to Allan Holdsworth and John McLaughlin and Al DiMeola? Three of my favorite guitar players, and also brilliant jazz composers. DiMeola is more of a latin jazz fusion though, but still powerful and brilliant. Kiss My Axe is one of my still favorite albums from him and of all time.

I have been hammering " Peter Corvaia - Against Nature ".

Absolutely stunning tune. Just fit into Summer for me. I listen to this track at least once a day and I can not stop listening. Just a killer killer track.

For the ears that are interested ... http://www.protonradio.com/centient_.../Peter+Corvaia
It was on the last 80hz Session with Pole Folder ... last track of the set.

YES! i love mclaughlin's playing, that guy can play anything. i actually almost bought that new cd that's Mclaughlin, Jaco and Tony Williams...got Hendrix - Blues instead.
Holdsworth i'm not too familiar with but i've heard some of his stuff.

have you heard the acoustic cds that Mclaughlin, DiMeola and Paco Delucia did? insane playing

Oh yeah "Friday night in San Francisco" you can't beat that recording for awesome guitar playing. Blows you clean away the first time you hear it.

Check out Holdsworth's Metal Fatigue and Wardenclyffe Tower for absolutely amazing guitar work. He is the most fluid guitar player ever.

You can't have manslaughter without laughter.

"Son," he said without preamble, "never trust a man who doesn't drink because he's probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They're the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. They're usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that they're a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You can't trust a man who's afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. It's damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when he's heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl."
