Re: MacBook v MacBook Pro
iTunes. different way to do the music thing than i'm used to. all of my encoded records, the stuff i use for djing, just trying to figure out the best way to put it on the mac and use it is the shitter.
can i just play tracks from a location (my external hd) instead of it copying them into itunes? make sense?
also, missing that right click. lol.Comment

Re: MacBook v MacBook Pro
Rather than copying them into iTunes, just point iTunes at them using the "Add Folder to Library." That doesn't copy anything, it just tells iTunes where to look for them. That way, you've got them "loaded" into iTunes and can access them that way, i.e., fully integrated with the OS, but you still have the original files where you originally had them, in what I imagine is some nested folder set-up that's familiar to you.Comment

Don't use iTunes. It makes your compressed files sound even worse. Seriously annoying.Comment

Re: MacBook v MacBook Pro
Cover flow and just point the mp3 files to itunes. If you drag and drop they usually double load. I actually play most of my singles and set through quicktime. There are mp3 players you can get, I think beatport has one. I listen music through my iPod not through my system. Just reduces my resources and gives me that extra mobility.

Re: MacBook v MacBook Pro
Yeah. WInAmp, with the extra EFX processors is freakin' noice. Definitely the way to go with compressed audio files. Can you use QCD on a Mac?Comment

Re: MacBook v MacBook Pro

Re: MacBook v MacBook Pro
fucking itunes.
winamp > itunes x eleventy billion
that's my only complaint so far with the mac. i'm getting used to everything else. the right click thing doesn't bother me anymore, that took like a day to get over when i thought it was going to take a long time. the screen on this thing is beautiful. lcd backlit or someshit. dunno. looks awesome tho. keyboard is so fresh to type on. like a 10 yr old boys ass. or something.
this was funny...when i took the laptop out of the box, there was this tiny square manual and i thought, hmmm, that's it huh? hmmmm, what do i do know? guess i'll open it and turn it on. i pushed the button and almost instantly, it just came on. it didn't "boot up" or whatever the fuck pcs do, it just came on and was ready to go.Comment
