Boards of Canada - A Few Old Tunes

So maybe this isn't news...but I ran across a full download of some alleged BoC tunes called "A Few Old Tunes". I'd heard of this set and that there was debate around whether or not it is legit BoC work. I've checked Discogs and some other sites and it seems legit... Discogs lists it as an old cassette release from 1996, and it appears that the general agreement among BoC freaks is that it is real (it sure sounds like them...).

See here - comments at the bottom summarize it all pretty well:

My questions to any and all...

    1. Anyone have any evidence for or against this being real BoC work?
    2. Mods in particular: Would it be legit for me to post this on here? I strive not to post or seek out any commercial stuff, especially from musicians I really like...but this one seems to be out there in a gray area...

i have them all.... doesnt sound much like them... a bit i guess.

i like that mysterious part of some music. remember when some music was a mystery and hard to get. before the internet made it so accessible. finding rare records etc... i used to love how boc were so out of the public eye, they wouldnt give interviews or live shows.... nothing. they kinda ruined what they had by giving that one interview imo.

not that i didnt get this stuff online
