    Western Digital External Hardrive Problem.

Anyone else have th problem of their WD hardrive not being recognized by their computer? Or ever have another USB device not be recognized?

    How do you resolve it?

I tried it on a different computer with no luck, so I think its the WD not the computer. Do USB cables go bad? It wasn't dropped or anything, I just unplugged it when contractors where doing work in the room, stored it in another room, and when I reattached it, no luck. It works, the lights come one, but no connection.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried seeing if it shows up in your Control Panel?

I fixed it. Apparently during the moving the power adapters got mixed up. I had some random power adapter for some old computer speakers plugged in. It worked, the HD started, but the computer didn't read it until I put the proper adapter into it.
