      Re: Diggers - Transitions 3

I bought T1 and was content with it. T2 was such a bore and when it actually started to get good...whoops, it ended!

T3: well, I just don't think I enjoy bleepy bloopy minimal too much; and that Ink & Needle track was so annoying I almost clawed my eyes out...almost like listening to nails scratching a chalkboard!

While certainly there have been times over the past ~2.5 years where I have felt that house music had picked up and started to get good, there has hardly been any consistency in production quality and compilations have suffered as a result.

Don't get me wrong; a djs job is to select the best tracks out there to play and most are doing a good job it's just that the selection pool is pretty poor nowadays; or maybe I just don't get what this music is about anymore.

        Re: Diggers - Transitions 3

I think good tracks are still being produced (those old producers can't have just packed up and decide to sit out this 'minimal-electro-shite-phase), just that the signal to noise ratio is a lot worse now. But it can also be argued that there're a lot more choices out there than 2.5 years ago.

When I hear sets from Cattaneo, Mariano, and Mohrr, I'm continually surprised at what they're playing because everyone else seems to be playing the same trendy boring shite. Reminds me of the time when Digweed played that deep dark prog and everyone started playing it, 'cept they never played it as well and next thing you know, progressive was dead.

I got pics and video. But I will upload them in the morning. I need to smoke this nice phat joint and just close my eyes and replay the amazingness in my head.

          Re: Diggers - Transitions 3

While I do agree the selection is larger, in my opinion the quality is not better. With the internet, knowledge of how to produce and dj sometimes has fallen into the wrong hands.

The only thing I've noticed that is progressive about house music nowadays is that there is progressively more garbage to wade through year after year, especially recently...

Incredible mix, probably my favorite of the 3. I like the remix cover better than the real one, lol

              Re: Diggers - Transitions 3

I love Diggers...to the end, but I was seriously disappointed by this CD. I like the tracks, but it seems so predictable and the builds are all the same. It's like records companies came at him, paid him enough to put their (some fantastic, some mediocre) tracks on this and throw it all together.

I usually find more soul in his mixes, but this just seemed like it was something that HAD to be completed.

There are some really great parts, but the end of the CD is just crap to me..
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Funny....I am listening to this cd right now and saw this thread back on the first page.
I've just listened to Advance Panorama being mixed into Chest in the Attice about 20 times now. Damn is all I can say.
                  I love this c.d.
And imo there are great songs being produced right now. Great things happening.
Awww...I didn't mean A holes, as in "A holes"...I meant it like, as in, my friends....

I finally got this mix...and honestly, I found it to be solid but nothing amazing. Definitely not the best of the series, imo... The best was #1.
