This is the best thing I've heard from Diggers for a while. For me it's easily the best of his Transition efforts and about as memorable as his Northern Exposure/Expedition efforts. In fact it's the best release he's produced this millenium.
Yeah I had misgivings about it, what with all those tracks. However Diggerz turns this to his advantage and our listening pleasure by layering and mixing the tracks in such a seamless, elegant, yet musically dramatic way that it doesn't feel cluttered at all. This release just confirms to me once again that when he puts his mind to it Digweed is one of the most technically accomplished and musically knowledgeable D.J.'s around who can create a mix that isn't just a bunch of tracks but a single piece of art in itself.
I hope some other lazy D.J.'s out there sit up and take notice. The bar has now been set even higher.
My copy finally arrived in the mail today and I agree with most people here, it's brilliant.
One thing that struck me was how minimal the packaging is…it almost looks like there was a printing error. The CD booklet is a solid black page with some strange orange text dead in the centre. Every line is missing its first letter. So it reads: isc 2

And then someone forgot to put an r on the end of Fortier…
I work for a newspaper so I notice these sorts of things! Is this the way it's meant to be?
When is Diggers on the Essential Mix, I know it is this month but when?
Get to go see Sasha this month too, between the nice little package Diggers gave us in the form of Transitions Vol. 3 and Gridlock, the EM and seeing Sasha and Spooky live in Houston..... Oct. is the shit......!!!!!

my copy doesn't look like that,
Music is the answer, to your problems. Keep on movin', till you solve them.
Mine finally came in the mail today. Definitely worth the wait.
I ordered it from the UK, and got a signed copy. Packaging is nice but nothing spectacular.
I love hearing new stuff from Digweed. I'm also amazed at how good the CD sounds compared to the weekly mixes. When your most common dose of Digweed is MP3, it's nice to listen to a CD again. The crisp highs, the endless deep bass. Sure the mixes are tolerable on a nice stereo, but it's just amazing how apparent the difference is when you put a fresh CD in.
The mix works nicely for me, the build-up and onslaught. It's a nice compliment of tracks that flow well for me at least.
I'm sure I'll get flamed to hell, but I do still miss the "progressive" days of northern exposure and what not. GU Sydney, LA, etc. come on. That stuff is phenomenal. This isn't that, but based on where the music is going these days - this is a superb comp.
We're all Digweed fanatics here of course, but if you're on the fence about this - get it.
Figured, I was about to post and ask if you're talking about the extended trick or responding to futura's comment!
I guess your post was meant for my comment in the Gridlock thread :P

Oh. My. God. James absolutely obliterated the island tonight. The last time there was so much destruction, Obi Wan Kenobi had to take a seat on the Falcon after the Death Star said "hi and bye" to Leia's homeworld.
I got pics and video. But I will upload them in the morning. I need to smoke this nice phat joint and just close my eyes and replay the amazingness in my head.
Just wanting peoples veiws on what you think of John Digweeds new Transitions Vol 3 compilathion. Personaly I thought it was a bit of a let down what did you think
i think there was a thread about it already.
Personaly Iīve only heard it twice so i canīt really say anything at the moment.
Digweeds cds always bore me to death, but i found my self listening to tran. 1 and 2 quite much.
I really can't stop listening to this. Some of the mixes are so good, it makes me laugh every time I hear them.
I agree. I listened to the album for a few days after initially receiving it, without being too overwhelmed; but then a few weeks later I re-listened to it, and truly love it now. The mixing- ableton or not- is sweet; in particular, I love the transitions from Messene into Hedonism, and Genesis into Kore. The latter transition is very clever and a highlight; Kore is my favourite track of the album.
It surpasses the second of the series, but is still slightly behind the first, but the first in my eyes is an unassailable masterpiece, so this isn't saying too much I can't wait to see Digweed in a club again.
Yeah i bought it . It took quite alot of listenings to actually get in to it but now i own half the tunes on it
Done a party the other night and evryone was well impressed with the tunes from it i used .
Worth buyiing man.
