The hurricane season has kicked off again

MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica (CNN) -- Hurricane Dean skirted the southern coast of Jamaica on Sunday, pounding the island with high winds and surf even as its eye remained offshore. Jamaica's electrical grid was shut down Sunday in preparation for Hurricane Dean which is classified as a Category 4 storm.

The hurricane's top winds remained 145 mph and hurricane force winds extended 60 miles from the eye according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida.

As it moves into the western Caribbean Sea, the storm retains the potential to become a Category 5 hurricane indicates winds in excess of 155 mph.

Only a few hundred residents have moved into shelters and many tourists ignored earlier warnings to fly home.

The Belize government has issued a tropical storm watch from Dangriega north to the border with Mexico, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.

sayanora cozumel. was there last year and they were still rebuilding from a hurricane that swept in a few years ago (2002?). Anyways, I wouldn't be suprised if this island was just washed away after this storm. wish i could be down there to help
you could put an Emfire release on for 2 minutes and you would be a sleep before it finishes - Chunky

it's RA. they'd blow their load all over some stupid 20 minute loop of a snare if it had a quirky flange setting. - Tiddles

You can't have manslaughter without laughter.

"Son," he said without preamble, "never trust a man who doesn't drink because he's probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They're the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. They're usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that they're a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You can't trust a man who's afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. It's damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when he's heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl."
