Has anyone heard the rumblings about the Petraeus Report that is due in September actually being ghostwritten by the White House itself? And that Petraeus might not be allowed to publicly testify about the progress we're making in Iraq?
Here's an LA Times article that alludes to it in an almost off-handed way. Anyone know if this is where this was originally reported?
Golly, I wonder what it will say? I bet it will conclude that we're making satisfactory progress -- just a hunch.
Seriously, if this is accurate, it is just madness.

Despite Bush's repeated statements that the report will reflect evaluations by Petraeus and Ryan Crocker, the U.S. ambassador to Iraq, administration officials said it would actually be written by the White House, with inputs from officials throughout the government.
