I saw pappa a few weeks ago in Sydney, Australia. Can't say I was too impressed, his set was quite boring IMO and didnt really go anywhere. I left about 3/4 of the way through. Thats probably just my taste in music though... i like the more funky types like prydz and spirit catcher ... supposedly pappa was using 3 cdj's at one stage though which is pretty impressive.

Lee Burito is by far the most boring DJ I have ever seen. Papa has been a while though, 2002 I think...

gotta agree with you there. I hear he rocks it sometimes, but when i've seen him he was boring as hell.

Pappa is one of the best djs (after nick warren) for me. If you like deep and dark techno, you'll love it! lots of break beats also. his sets are trippi, nice you're seeing him.

I'd put all my money in the Pappa basket. The man has so much talent it's a shame he doesn't get more recognition than he does.

He's second to Digweed, and it's a looooong way back to third place.

The guy knows how to build a set that's for sure.

Dylan the reports I heard about his Sydney show is that he played so well that he decided to stay in town an extra week and play another gig. Would've loved to have seen him but I couldn't make it

Its all subjective really... what is one mans cup of tea is not necessarily another mans. I didn't really like it, but thats not to say it wasn't a good set. It could have been far from it. I just couldn't get into it and therefore didn't enjoy it.

Pappa played in Perth (Australia) a couple of weeks ago and it was similar to what people have said about his Sydney performance. He played some good tunes but it just didn't feel like it sat together as a set all that well. When I saw him last year he was brilliant…

pappa still plays awesome sets, problem is, it still conforms to the slow-build up to peak-time style... which if it's just him is great, particularly if you got the patience. if he could play music like nick warren and just let loose but still keep his brilliant mixing....i'd have to reconsider whether diggers was numero uno.

I saw Pappa twice last year and thought he was amazing both times !! I've seen him twice this year and although he played some amazing tunes very well ,his set structure wasn't anywhere near as good. The second time wasn't his fault, he played B2B with Phil K and their music together just didn't work at all. Totally depressing night.

Burridge used to be one of the grooviest and entertaining DJs back in 2003-2004, no idea what he's up to these days. Will probably get an idea once Balance 11 comes out.
